About
1939

The event was held on the on the newly created, man-made Treasure Island with views of both bridges. The exhibition was to highlight new innovative products and engineering feats.
Believing that lightweight block would revolutionize the construction of office building and residential homes, the Basalt Rock Company of Napa built a residential project on site at the World’s Fair for everyone visiting to see. They wanted the world to see their new high performance, lightweight block in action. The concrete block product was named……. Basalite®.
